Institute of Materials, Malaysia (IMM) is a non-profit professional society that promotes honourable practice, professional ethics and encourages education in materials science, technology and engineering. IMM offers a number of certification programs in coatings, corrosion management & control, welding and vibration monitoring, to support the Oil & Gas and heavy industry in Malaysia.
The American Welding Society (AWS) is a non-profit organization with a global mission to advance the science, technology and application of welding and allied joining and cutting processes. The American Welding Society offers a number of certification programs that recognize and document expertise and knowledge in specific welding-related disciplines and a well-known skills certfcaton body In the Oil & Gas and other heavy industry.
NACE International is a not-for-profit professional Organization for the corrosion control industry whose mission is to “[equip] society to protect people, assets and the environment from the adverse effects of corrosion.” NACE provides certifications and training packages for members in the industry, which can be obtained through coursework and exams, work experience, or education. NACE certification programs include Cathodic Protection (CP), Coating Inspector (CIP), General Coatings, General Corrosion, Pipeline Industry, and a Specialty program that covers certifications for carbon steel, chemical treatments and many other areas.
TAFE Australia provides a wide range of predominantly vocational courses, mostly qualifying courses under the National Training System/Australian Qualifications Framework/Australian Quality Training Framework. Fields covered include business, finance, hospitality, tourism, construction, engineering, visual arts, information technology and community work. TAFE courses provide students an opportunity for certificate, diploma, and advanced diploma qualifications in a wide range of areas.
The Malaysian Robotics & Automation Society was established in 2010 as an Interest Group to push for the advancement of robotics and automation technology in Malaysia. MyRAS was formally registered with the Registrar of Societies in 2017. MyRAS provides a platform to establish robotics & automation clusters with Users, Policy Makers, Educationists, Researchers, Industry Players, and Hobbyists to help advance the field in Malaysia. Besides conducting regular conferences, seminars, workshops, training programs and competitions, MyRAS also conducts Professional Certification programs through its Global Certification Program (GCP) on Robotics & Automation that will be recognized by the Industry and Government Sectors to help build competencies in this field both nationally and globally.
