The Academy provides training to those seeking employment and continual improvement with courses that supports career advancement. JOTAC programs have been designed by experts to fulfill the human capital requirement of the oil and gas as well as the power, marine, water, logistics, manufacturing, and fabrication industries.
Corrosion & Inspection Certification programs offered by JOTAC in collaboration with The Institute of Materials, Malaysia (IMM) meet Industry Standards. JOTAC offers Welding skills programs with certification by the American Welding Society (AWS) and SIRIM.

Ir Max Ong Chong Hup
JOTAC Academy Director
Ir. Max Ong graduated from Queen Mary University of London in 1977 with B.Sc.(Hons) in Materials Engineering. He has over 40 years’ experience in Corrosion Control covering Protective Coatings, Decorative Paints, Cathodic Protection, Corrosion Monitoring & Inspection, Fire Proofing Coatings, Thermal Spray Coatings, Failure Analysis and Materials Testing & Selection, as a manufacturer, technical sales specialist, service contractor, and Corrosion Consultant. He was involved in manufacturing of Sacrificial Aluminium, Zinc and Magnesium Anodes in DIMET Singapore (1980-1982) and MPE Malaysia (1990-2005). He was involved in paint manufacturing and technical servicing in DIMET-AMERON Protective Coatings (1982-1989) and Leighs Paints (2006-2009).

He is currently a Director of JOTAC Academy Sdn. Bhd and also the Executive Director of Norimax Sdn. Bhd. (a company manufacturing Sacrificial Anodes and providing Thermal Spray Coatings & Corrosion Protection Services).
Ir Mohd Suradi Bin Imam @ Hj Mohd Yasin

Ir. Mohd Suradi Yasin graduated from University of Northumberland, Newcastle upon Tyne, UK in 1979 with BSc in Mech. Engineering. He has worked for more than 40 years in oil and gas industries. He started his career in PETRONAS as offshore well-site engineer, working his way through various capacities in operations: selection of oilfield chemical treatments for production streams; engineering design of offshore production platforms and facilities; developed strategies in upgrading of crude oil terminals; development of training programs for technical staff as discipline resource person (DRP) for Corrosion, Inspection and Materials Engineering skill group; development of technical standards and engineering practices company wide; and strategizing for new oil/gas projects ie in project management consultancy (PMC), engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) for green- and brown-fields, rejuvenation of offshore platforms and gas processing plants.
His major involvement is in Material, Corrosion and Inspection (MCI) and his pet subject has always been in corrosion mitigation on surface facilities.
