The driving principle of JOTAC is to provide skills and competencies to workers in the Engineering and Digital fields for conventional industries and future industries. JOTAC will offer fit-for-purpose skill competency training with Certifications that are internationally-recognised by the industries worldwide.

Business Description

JOTAC is focused towards development of human capital particularly in the technical & vocational education and training (TVET) in the field of engineering. JOTAC’s mission is to develop, nurture and groom multi-talented/skilled Technicians. JOTAC is a certified training provider registered with HRDF, IMM and Department of Skills Malaysia (JPK).

JOTAC’s TVET training is designed to fit to the needs and expectations of future employers. We have developed short training modules to qualify individuals to be certified personnel in accordance to requirement of the Oil & Gas Industry. Welding, blasting & painting, rigging & slinging are some of the certification programs that we have conducted. The certification bodies that we have collaborated with are SIRIM-AWS, Institute of Materials, Malaysia (IMM) and National Institute of Safety & Health (NIOSH) to name a few.

JOTAC will diversify its’ offering of courses in other skill sets which will fit into the needs of human capital in the market. Our tag line “TVET for the New Era” is driven by the intention to develop human capital relevant to the need of current and future industry. We offer courses that will converge traditional skill sets with the latest technology enabler; Information Technology (IT). And the best part, our courses are not exam oriented but focuses more on mastering skill competency.

JOTAC courses are developed by industry players who have the hands-on knowledge about the industry. There are TWO main categories of TVET Courses that we offer; Materials Technology and Industry 4.0 Technology. List of courses that we offer are as per following figure 1 & 2.

The length of study will be determined based on the level of competency that one wants to attain; from the basic skill craftsman to skilled technologist.

The most appealing thing about our courses is, it is not class room oriented. The teaching and learning process is enforced through experiential learning by being in actual working environment and skill competencies are assessed on a one to one basis by the trainer. We emulate the course mode of delivery from TAFE Australia which is deem as the most effective method of teaching & learning for Technical & Vocational education.

JOTAC’s Future

The company intends to become a full-fledge TVET institution offering Technical Certification in the fields of Digital Technology such as Automation, Robotics, 3-D Printing and Drone Technology as well as new technological skills in Materials-Corrosion-Inspection areas of study. These skill-sets will enable graduates to secure employment in the Manufacturing Sector, Metal Fabrication Sector, Building Construction Sector, Oil & Gas Services Sector, Power & Utilities Sectors and the Infrastructure Construction Sectors.

To enable our graduates to further develop their qualifications after working for some years, JOTAC intends to offer opportunities for graduates to acquire higher qualifications through bridging programs and recognition of prior experience & learning.
